Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Tongs or spoon

Ingredients

  • Brussels sprouts – 1 pound, trimmed and halved
  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
  • Paprika – ½ teaspoon
  • Parmesan cheese – ¼ cup, grated, optional
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon, optional

Instructions

Prepare the Brussels sprouts

  • Wash the Brussels sprouts under cool water, trim off the tough ends, and remove loose leaves. Cut each sprout in half so they cook evenly and place them into a large mixing bowl.

Season the sprouts

  • Add olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika to the bowl. Toss everything well until the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated with oil and seasoning on all sides.

Preheat the air fryer

  • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for about three minutes. This helps the Brussels sprouts start cooking right away and creates a crisp, golden exterior once they hit the basket.

Cook the Brussels sprouts

  • Place the seasoned Brussels sprouts into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even browning.

Add finishing touches

  • Remove the Brussels sprouts from the air fryer once crispy and tender. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if using and add a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for best crispiness.
  • Shake the basket halfway through cooking for even browning.
  • Add chili flakes or cayenne for extra heat.
  • Reheat leftovers in the air fryer to restore crisp texture.
