Equipment

  • Large pitcher or jug
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring cups
  • Wooden spoon or stirrer
  • Glasses for serving
  • Citrus juicer (optional)

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Apple cider, fresh is best
  • 1 cup White wine, or sparkling wine for fizz
  • 1/2 cup Orange juice
  • 1 Apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 Orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 cup Brandy, optional
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or maple syrup, optional
  • Ice cubes, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the fruit

  • Wash the apple and orange, remove seeds, and slice thinly. Fresh fruit gives the best flavor and looks pretty in the sangria.

Combine liquids

  • Pour apple cider, white wine, and orange juice into a large pitcher. Stir gently to mix the liquids evenly.

Add the fruit

  • Add the sliced apple and orange to the pitcher. Gently push the fruit down to release flavor and color.

Add cinnamon and sweetener

  • Drop in the cinnamon stick. If you like sweetness, add honey or maple syrup. Stir until combined.

Optional brandy

  • Add brandy if desired. This step gives a stronger, festive flavor perfect for parties or adult gatherings.

Chill the sangria

  • Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Overnight chilling enhances the flavor beautifully.

Serve with ice

  • Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour chilled sangria over ice and add a few fruit slices for a pretty presentation.

Garnish

  • Optional garnish: sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top or add a thin apple slice on the rim of each glass.

Notes

  • Use fresh apples and oranges for best flavor
  • Chill sangria at least 2 hours for best taste
  • Add brandy for a stronger drink
  • Garnish with cinnamon or fruit slices for presentation
