Equipment

  • Blender or food processor
  • Saucepan
  • Wooden spoon or silicone spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Airtight jar for storage

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dates, pitted and chopped
  • ½ cup Water
  • ½ cup Coconut milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp Sea salt
  • 1 tbsp Maple syrup, optional for extra sweetness

Instructions

Prepare Dates

  • Chop the pitted dates into small pieces. This helps them soften quickly in the saucepan and blend smoothly later.

Heat Dates and Water

  • Add the chopped dates and water to a saucepan. Heat on medium for 5–7 minutes until dates soften and absorb the water, stirring occasionally.

Add Coconut Milk

  • Pour in coconut milk and stir gently. Warm the mixture without boiling, giving the caramel a creamy texture and rich flavor.

Blend Until Smooth

  • Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth and silky. Make sure there are no lumps for a perfect caramel sauce.

Add Flavorings

  • Add vanilla extract, sea salt, and optional maple syrup. Blend again to combine flavors evenly and create a balanced, sweet sauce.

Adjust Thickness

  • Adjust the thickness by adding a teaspoon of water for a thinner sauce. Cook longer on low heat for thicker consistency if desired.

Serve or Store

  • Pour the sauce into a jar or bowl. Serve immediately over desserts, pancakes, or store in the fridge for later use.

Notes

  • Use medjool dates for natural sweetness
  • Store in airtight jar in fridge for up to 2 weeks
  • Reheat gently before serving
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor
