Ingredients

  • 12-18 oz Sour cream
  • 3 Tomatillo tomatoes
  • 2 Jalapenos
  • 2 Avocados
  • 2 oz Fresh cilantro (1 bunch)
  • ¼ tsp Freshly ground black pepper
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Sea salt

Instructions

  • Wash and chop the jalapenos. Keep or remove the seeds and ribs based on the level of hotness you want in your sauce.
  • In a blender, add chopped jalapenos and then add other ingredients including tomatillo tomatoes, sour cream, freshly ground black pepper, sea salt, garlic powder, fresh cilantro, and avocados to the blender. (if the tomatillos feel hard, you can first bake them in the oven to make them soft for easy blending.)
  • Set the speed of the blender to high and blend the ingredients for half a minute, or until the texture of the sauce becomes smooth. If you feel like it’s too thick, add some water and blend again until you get your desired consistency. You can also make the sauce chunkier by blending for less time.
  • Gringo’s Mexican Green Sauce is ready. Store in the refrigerator for not more than a week and enjoy the heat whenever you want!
