  • Wooden spoon Or spatula to break up turkey
  • Medium glass bowl To mix the creamy sauce
  • Wire whisk Or fork for blending
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Rice cooker Or medium pot

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey, Ground chicken or beef also works
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, For sautéing the aromatics
  • 3 cloves garlic, Finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, Grated finely
  • 3 cups cooked jasmine rice, Kept warm and fluffy
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise, Creamy base for the sauce
  • 0.25 cup sweet chili sauce, Adds a touch of sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce, Adjust for spicy heat
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce, Brings rich savory flavor
  • 3 green onions, Thinly sliced for garnish
  • 1 cup shredded carrots, For sweet, fresh crunch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, Toasted gently

Instructions

Cook the Jasmine Rice

  • Start by cooking your jasmine rice in a rice cooker or a pot according to the package instructions. Once it is fully cooked, fluff it gently with a fork and keep it covered so it stays warm.

Whisk the Bang Bang Sauce

  • In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and a splash of soy sauce. Whisk the mixture vigorously until it is completely smooth, creamy, and a beautiful light orange color.

Sauté the Aromatics

  • Heat the olive oil in your large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, then sauté them for about one minute until your kitchen smells absolutely amazing.

Brown the Ground Turkey

  • Add the ground turkey to the hot skillet, breaking it apart with your wooden spoon. Cook the meat for seven to eight minutes until it is fully browned and no pink remains.

Season the Turkey

  • Stir a tablespoon of soy sauce directly into the cooked turkey to add a rich color and flavor. Lower the heat to medium and let the meat absorb the savory juices for one minute.

Combine Meat and Sauce

  • Pour about half of your prepared bang bang sauce directly into the skillet with the turkey. Toss everything together gently until the meat is thoroughly coated and glazes beautifully in the warm sauce.

Assemble the Bowls

  • Divide your warm, fluffy jasmine rice evenly among four serving bowls. Top the rice with a generous scoop of the glazed turkey, then add a handful of sweet shredded carrots.

Garnish and Serve

  • Drizzle the remaining bang bang sauce generously over the top of each assembled bowl. Sprinkle with the sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds, then serve your delicious creation immediately.

Notes

  • Pat your ground turkey dry with paper towels before cooking to get a better brown crust.
  • Swap mayonnaise for plain Greek yogurt to make a lower-calorie version of the sauce.
  • Stir in fresh broccoli florets, snap peas, or sliced bell peppers while browning the turkey.
  • Keep cooked ingredients in separate airtight containers in the fridge for up to four days.
  • Wait to drizzle the cold bang bang sauce over the warm food right before eating.
