  • 1 ¼ cups All-purpose flour =
  • 6 tbsp Cold unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Cold vegetable shortening

For Pie Filling:

  • 2 cups Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup All-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • tsp Freshly grated nutmeg

Instructions

  • The first thing is to prepare the crust. For that, pulse the salt and all-purpose flour together in a food processor. Then add shortening and butter and pulse them all. Make the mixture look coarse and have small chunks of butter.
  • In the same content, add some ice water, about 2-3 tbsp, and pulse again. Turn the contents of the food processor into a smooth and beautiful dough.
  • Transfer the dough onto a plastic sheet, pat it in a disk shape, wrap it in a plastic sheet, and refrigerate for an hour. If you’ve got plenty of time, go ahead and refrigerate for 24 hours. It will be better.
  • Then flour a clean surface on your countertop and put the dough on it. Roll it into a round pie crust shape, about 9-11 inches. Then place it in the pie pan and roll the edges. Use a fork to make the beautiful piercings on the bottom. Let the dough enjoy some time in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  • Preheat the oven with a baking sheet at 425 degrees F. You just got done with the pie crust prep. Now let’s move to filling.
  • Find a beautiful medium-sized bowl and add whipping cream, sugar, flour, and vanilla to the bowl, and use a blender or a whisk to whip them. Transfer this whipped creamy mixture to the pie crust dough.
  • For some decor, add nutmeg and butter to the filling mixture. Then bake for 10 minutes.
  • Bake for a second time, but at 350 degrees F, and until the filling becomes bubbly, and the crust is beautifully golden. It can take anywhere from 50-60 minutes.
  • Cool the yummy sugar pie on a cooling rack. Chill in the refrigerator. Wick's Sugar Cream Pie is ready. Bon Appetit!
