Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 large Garlic clove (minced)
  • 1/2 Onion (very finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 can Crushed tomatoes (28 ounces)
  • 1 can Tomato puree (29 ounces)
  • 4 tablespoons Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Add garlic to the hot oil over medium-low heat. Cook while stirring until golden brown, being vigilant that it does not overcook or burn.
  • Add the onion and stir until it becomes tender and golden. Add tomato products and seasonings. Bring the mixture to a slow boil using medium-high heat.
    You can add water if you like a thinner sauce. Cover and boil for ten minutes.
  • Simmer for an hour, stirring periodically to avoid sticking, on the lowest heat setting with a partially closed lid.
  • About six cups come out of this recipe. Enjoy your Pago Spaghetti Sauce!
    Serve it with any spaghetti dish and garlic bread sticks that taste perfect with this sauce.
