- 1- inch Raw ahi tuna steaks = 2
- Extra virgin olive oil = 2 tbsp
- Freshly ground black pepper = to taste
- Kosher salt = to taste
- White sesame seeds = 2 tsp
Take your tuna steaks and pat them dry with paper towels. Then sprinkle salt, freshly ground black pepper, and sesame seeds on both sides of the steaks. Pat to ensure the sticking of the seasoning to the tuna.
Add oil in a large cast iron skillet and heat it on medium heat. Turn the flame to medium-high and wait until the oil just starts to smoke. At this moment, add seasoned tuna steaks to the skillet.
Cook each side for 40 seconds to create an enjoyable crust on the outside.
