There are two parts to making this dish, The Pecan Streusel and apple dumplings are prepared separately.
Step 1
Turn the oven on to 425°F.
Step 2
Fix butter paper in a baking tray and grease it a bit.
Step 3
While dividing the pastry into about 12-by-12-inch pieces, cut each into six or eight-inch squares.
Step 4
In a bowl, whisk sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and bread crumbs.
Step 5
Beat a large egg. Use a brush to apply the egg wash to the pastry squares.
Step 6
In the center of the pastry, put a tablespoon of bread crumbs mixture. Place a quarter of a Granny Smith apple on top of it.
