- Peeled and deveined shrimp = 1 lb
- Chicken broth = ½ cup
- Bacon = 6 slices
- Minced garlic = 3 cloves
- Minced bell pepper = ½
- Minced white onion = ½
- Cajun seasoning = 2 tbsp
- Smoked paprika = 1 tsp
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Chopped green onion
- Chopped parsley
For Grit:
- Quick grits = 1 cup
- Milk = 3 cups
- Water = 2 cups
- Butter = 3 tbsp
- Shredded cheddar cheese = ¾ cup
- Salt, to taste

Instructions for Making Pappadeaux Shrimp and Grits Recipe
Following is a detailed description of the method on how to make Pappadeaux Shrimp and Grits :
Step 1
First, prepare the grits. Take a medium sized pot and add water and milk in it. On medium flame, bring them to a simmer.
Step 2
Then add grits and butter and mix gently. Keep simmering for 5 minutes while stirring from time to time. Add salt and pepper and mix.
Step 3
Finally add cheese and check the consistency of grits. If you feel they are very thick, add some more milk to adjust the consistency.
Step 4
Now it’s the turn for shrimp. Take a skillet. Cook the bacon strips in it until they turn crispy. Then take them away from the heat and chop them. Place them on a side.
Step 5
You will have some bacon grease in the skillet. Leave 2 tbsp and take out the rest. Then add shrimp in this grease. Then add 1 tbsp cajun seasoning and mix them well. Cook for 2 minutes and then take away from the heat. Transfer the shrimp to a container.

Now add chopped bell pepper and chopped onion in the same skillet and let them cook until they are softened. Then add minced garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Finally add seasonings to this mixture: smoked paprika, salt, cajun seasoning, and black pepper. Mix them in the veggies.
Step 7
Now add chicken broth in this mixture and simmer it for 5-7 minutes. Then put the shrimp back in the skillet containing chicken broth and veggies mixture. Let it stay on the stove for 1 minute.
Step 8
